Over a decade ago, we set out with a simple mission: give more people hope in their health. What started as a small chiropractic office in Lakewood Ranch has grown into a comprehensive health center serving thousands of families across the Suncoast.

The idea for The Roots took shape while Dr. Logan and Dr. Laura Swaim were still in chiropractic school — sharing one belief that would become their life's work: the body is designed to heal, and most people have never been shown what that's capable of.
The nervous system — the brain, spinal cord, and every nerve in the body — controls and coordinates every single function. When the spine shifts out of alignment, the nervous system gets interfered with, and the body's ability to heal is compromised. Not all at once, but slowly. Headaches. Digestive issues. Sleep problems. Pain. Fatigue.
The idea behind The Roots is simple: find where the nervous system is being interfered with, and remove the interference. Give the body the conditions it needs, and let it do what it's designed to do — heal from the inside out.

A Decade of Growth, One Family at a Time
A Dream Takes Root
Dr. Logan Swaim and Dr. Laura Swaim met in chiropractic school, sharing one idea that would become their life's work: help people heal the way their bodies were designed to — naturally, and with care for the whole family.
The Roots Health Centers Opens
Dr. Logan and Dr. Laura opened the doors in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. From day one, the clinic served families across every life stage — adults, athletes, expecting mothers, and children alike. Prenatal and pediatric care have always been part of the mission, not a later addition.
A Community Builds
No billboards. No big ad campaigns. Patients started referring their families, friends, and coworkers because they were getting results they couldn't find anywhere else. The clinic grew organically, one family at a time.
Neuropathy — Our First Specialty Expansion
As the clinic grew, Dr. Logan dove deep into peripheral neuropathy care and became Board Certified in Neuropathy (ACPM). The neuropathy program was the first specialty service to expand beyond general chiropractic — built around a comprehensive, drug-free approach to rehabilitating nerve function.
Little Roots Opens + Dr. Fox Joins the Team
Two milestones in the same year: Little Roots Pediatric Chiropractic opened next door as a dedicated pediatric and prenatal wing, and Dr. Grayson Fox joined the team, bringing advanced training in chiropractic neurology and a focus on caring for kids and families.

The name change wasn't a rebrand for the sake of it. It reflected reality. When you walk into our office today, you don't just get a chiropractic adjustment. We became The Roots Health Centers because that's what we are: a comprehensive, neurologically-focused health center where families can get the specialized care they need without driving all over town.
