The Nervous System Map
Your spine controls more than you think.
Every region of your spine houses nerves that influence specific organs, body systems, and the way your body responds to stress. This is the map we use in our office every day — explore each region to see what it controls and the presentations we commonly see when it's not regulated.
C1–C3
C1–C3: Upper Cervical
The most influential region of the entire spine. Houses the vagus nerve, brainstem, and cerebellum — the structures that govern autonomic regulation, balance, sensory integration, and immune function. Issues here ripple through the entire body.

C4–C7: Lower Cervical
Routes nerve supply to the shoulders, arms, hands, and thyroid. Chronic neck pain, arm tingling, thyroid-related symptoms, and anxiety often involve structural patterns in this region.

T1–T3: Upper Thoracic
Houses nerve supply to the heart, lungs, bronchi, and esophagus. Patients with chronic respiratory issues, functional cardiac concerns, or upper GI patterns often have structural involvement here.
Explore region →T4–T7
T4–T7: Mid Thoracic
The gateway to digestion and detox. Houses nerve supply to the gallbladder, liver, stomach, pancreas, and spleen — the major organs that process what we eat and clean what we don't need.
Explore region →T8–T12
T8–T12: Lower Thoracic
The intersection of the stress response axis and the gut. Houses nerve supply to the adrenal glands, kidneys, small intestine, and reproductive organs. Chronic stress, fatigue, and gut issues often show up here.
Explore region →L1–Sacrum
L1–Sacrum: Lumbo-Sacral Spine
The base of the spine. Routes nerve supply to the legs, knees, feet, lower back, pelvic floor, and reproductive system. Patients with sciatica, lower back pain, peripheral neuropathy in the feet, or pelvic floor concerns almost always involve this region.
