From Two Hours to Fifteen Minutes

I'm Aiden's mom. Aiden is a three and a half year old autistic boy. [00:00:06,780] He's very special and I have looked for a lot of help, a lot of therapies for my son. Our life changed drastically five months ago [00:00:29,320] where our son is now singing. He's putting words together. He did not do that before. He [00:00:36,560] is a lot calmer. He eats. The minute you walk in through the door, they know me by my name. They know Aiden's. [00:01:13,220] It's like you're walking into your house. It's very welcoming. Everybody here is so welcoming. I expressed to Aiden's pediatrician that I was a little worried about his [00:01:42,700] speech delay. Pediatricians tend to sometimes just tell you, oh wait and see your little voice [00:01:50,060] longer. It just didn't sit right with me. I looked for all different options and I think that even [00:01:57,200] though his ABA therapy and his speech therapy have impacted him, I've seen the biggest impact [00:02:04,280] within the last five months with Dr. Fox than I have in the last year and a half in just ABA [00:02:09,780] therapy. I think it's a combination of things but I have definitely seen drastic impact with this. [00:02:15,720] I actually was referred by a friend who is doing it in North Carolina and I started reading on it [00:02:26,600] and I drive an hour and a half every day to come here. I started here three times a week [00:02:33,500] and it's a sacrifice but it's been the best thing that has happened to our family. So when you find [00:02:40,480] something that works for your family, it doesn't matter how long it takes you to get here. We just [00:02:47,020] did it and it's been the best. But Dr. Fox was the closest doctor that I got a recommendation from [00:02:56,500] that I felt like would be a match with Aiden. I think that's very important and how he makes Aiden [00:03:01,420] feel very safe here. I think that makes the hour and a half, three times a week very worth it. [00:03:08,000] Well aside from Aiden's speech delay, he was also struggling with his sleep. It would take him about [00:03:17,380] two hours to fall asleep in a dark room with white noise with mom or dad next to him. It would take [00:03:25,760] him a very long time. He wouldn't nap during the day in school because it became very hard for him. [00:03:33,500] It wasn't until we started doing his adjustments that we saw improvement and Aiden is sleeping [00:03:40,400] within 15 minutes now. No type of supplement, no magnesium, no melatonin, no type of any type [00:03:48,500] of medication. He just falls asleep. He's a lot calmer and he drags my husband to his bed and tells [00:03:55,020] him it's time to go to sleep. So he knows it. He's out in 15 minutes. So that's been very big for our [00:04:00,820] family because we see him very well rested where he's able to focus better the following day in [00:04:07,360] school and in his therapy. So it's been very helpful that he's been able to sleep all night and [00:04:13,660] good sleep. I think my family decided on holistic care only because we would rather do things and [00:04:24,480] fight our body naturally. Things that we know that our body is capable of rather than giving [00:04:30,260] them a medication either to go to sleep or to calm him down. There's other ways of doing things. [00:04:38,340] Again, he does speech therapy and ABA therapy and we look for different things that might [00:04:43,520] work for him. There's a lot of things out there that try this medication and try that medication [00:04:49,980] and yeah, we can put him on some medication to calm him down or to make him go to sleep. [00:04:54,360] But I want his body to do what it's meant to do and I know that through the adjustments and [00:05:01,820] through regulating the nervous system, we can get the body doing what it's meant to do and I think [00:05:08,620] that that's exactly where we're at. We're almost at the end of his first session. Now we're going [00:05:16,440] to transition into a wellness plan and I'm excited to see how Aiden will just come once a week and [00:05:21,700] this will continue as a maintenance rather than the three times a week. He's down to twice a week [00:05:28,060] now and he actually, we were spring break and we were very busy and he just missed two weeks [00:05:33,120] and it was amazing to hear Dr. Fox like, yeah, I was. [00:05:36,735] expecting you know other things and he was fine and it's and it's great to see [00:05:41,715] but I think it's the dedication that Dr. Fox puts in to all his patients and I [00:05:48,375] think it's it's it's an it's a team effort you know Dr. Fox makes sure to [00:05:54,995] always answer all of my questions our sessions are supposed to be 15 minutes [00:05:58,495] and I'm his 30 minute patient because he answers all my questions I have a [00:06:01,795] different question every time that I come but he's amazing and answering them [00:06:05,815] and making sure that Aiden is okay making sure that he gets his adjustment [00:06:11,235] he wasn't the easiest patient to adjust at the beginning because it's very new [00:06:15,555] to him and for autistic children it takes a little bit of adjustment coming [00:06:21,155] into new routines and Dr. Fox had all the patients in the world and I'm so [00:06:25,635] thankful for him I have to say and I know it's my favorite thing I have to [00:06:35,755] say the colors and the numbers and the letters and stuff like that but they [00:06:40,255] were little things and for him to be able to be so relaxed to learn in his [00:06:46,475] way the lyrics to a song or the sounds to a song and and do it back I saw this [00:06:51,195] within three weeks of him coming here and that's just amazing because we [00:06:58,855] honestly thought a year ago we thought our son was gonna be nonverbal so with [00:07:03,495] speech therapy that's helped immensely but with this our son is singing and I [00:07:09,315] love it and I love to hear it I love the improvement that I've seen in our son [00:07:12,675] and that's why I recommend it to anybody and everybody not even like I said not [00:07:18,335] even just families that have autistic children or children with any condition [00:07:23,175] just just to make your body do what it's supposed to do the value for this type [00:07:27,995] of care is very much justified you know this isn't something that's covered by [00:07:35,815] insurance and I know that it can be a little bit pricey but you can't put a [00:07:42,595] price on your health and
